A nice hill “Burr Oaks” was named in memory of hang-glider man Vern. A hill is a perfect place for gliding (para/hang) which is few km from at St. Joseph and ~70km from Kansas City.

Vern’s hill was a meet point with Darius L. The weather was just perfect for gliding. And the long trip from Des Moines, IOWA to the KS was not so long watching the sky:

The long trip was not for nothing! I met Darius and we did hours of flying around the Verns hill. I’d say Darius is a paragliding ambassador of Lithuania in USA. He is the only pilot from Lithuanian who is participating in US paragliding championships holding the name of his country.
We’re proud to have Darius (aka liotcik) on US paragliding battle field!
There’s was a first experience for me of gliding over the hill (with Darius supervision).
